2024 World Series odds: Dodgers remain atop oddsboard after sweeping Braves

The MLB season is gaining momentum, and the Dodgers and Braves remain favorites to win the World Series.

Los Angeles had a busy offseason. In addition to signing reigning American league MVP Shohei Ohtani, L.A. traded for right-hander Tyler Glasnow and signed Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

Well, the Dodgers have not disappointed thus far, as they are the current favorites to win it all.

Los Angeles Dodgers' Mookie Betts leads Ben's Team of the Month

After slotting them in third last week, Ben Verlander once again has the Dodgers at the top of his weekly power rankings, after a weekend sweep of the Braves.

Wrote Verlander: "The Dodgers welcomed the Braves to Chavez Ravine for the biggest series of the season thus far and promptly sent their NL foe packing with a sweep. Dominating a team that I had been praising as the best in baseball is a good way to take over that status of being the best team in baseball."

Verlander also released his Team of the Month on Monday, and he named Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts his Player of the Month.

"Betts is the … most deserving overall player for this honor, especially when you factor in the massive positional change he has made. Do not gloss over that fact. We just witnessed someone go from right field to second base to an adequate shortstop while still hitting at an MVP level. That speaks volumes to Betts' work ethic. Do not take the ability to watch Betts for granted just because he's been producing at this level for so long. We are witnessing an all-time great."
