November reign: Blackhawks' Kane named NHL's First Star of month

Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane didn't take too much time reveling in being named the NHL's First Star of the month for November.

"It's pretty cool," the 27-year-old Kane told reporters after the league made the announcement on Tuesday. "It probably shows how good the guys are playing around me instead of me personally. ... It's one of those things that's, 'OK, that happened last month, and now it's a new month, turn the page and have a good month here, too.'"

After setting the record for a point streak among American-born players on Saturday, Kane is taking his career-best 19-game run into Tuesday's tilt with the Central Division-rival Minnesota Wild. The 2013 Conn Smythe Trophy winner recorded 15 assists and 23 points during the month, which was highlighted by a career-high seven-game goal streak from Nov. 2-15.

Kane has 14 goals to go along with league bests in assists (23) and points (37).
