Sedins ready to move on after near brawl with Panthers
ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) Daniel and Henrik Sedin of the Vancouver Canucks say they've already forgotten about a near brawl at the end of their game against the Florida Panthers and are ready to move on.
After Daniel Sedin scored in overtime to end the Panthers' winning streak at 12, he skated toward Florida's bench and tempers flared. Canucks teammate Derek Dorsett shoved backup Panthers goaltender Al Montoya, and the situation escalated to the point where coaches and almost every player got involved.
There were no fines or suspensions as a result of the melee.
Sedin says the Canucks were reacting to one player whose comment was ''uncalled for.'' He did not identify the Florida player, or what was said.
The Canucks open a six-game road trip at the Washington Capitals on Thursday.
