Edwards puts up 18 as James Madison defeats Marshall 81-64 in Sun Belt Conference Tournament
PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) — Terrence Edwards scored 18 points to lead James Madison to an 81-64 victory against Marshall on Saturday night in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
No. 2 seed James Madison (29-3) will face No. 11 seed Texas State (17-17) in a semifinal on Sunday.
Edwards had seven rebounds and six assists for the Dukes. Noah Freidel and Michael Green III scored 12 points apiece. The Dukes extended their winning streak to 10 games.
Obinna Anochili-Killen led the Thundering Herd (13-20) in scoring, finishing with 15 points. Nate Martin added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Marshall. Kevon Voyles also had 12 points and three steals. The Thundering Herd extended their losing streak to seven in a row.
James Madison took the lead with 15:41 left in the first half and never looked back. The score was 44-29 at halftime, with Green racking up 10 points.
