ALBION, Pa. (AP) - Former IBF lightweight champion Paul Spadafora was released from the state prison Thursday and won't face charges he violated his parole.

Defense attorney Ken Bickel said officials decided not to file parole violation charges against the 32-year-old boxer.

Spadafora was incarcerated last week after being accused of violating a protection from abuse order by meeting his former fiancee Nadine Russo on April 29 at an Edinboro motel.

Prosecutors dropped charges Spadafora violated the order on April 30.

He was paroled in April 2006 after serving 13 months for shooting Russo in October 2003. They now have a child together, but Russo got a court order in June claiming Spadafora abused her.
