On Saturday, welterweight titleholder Andre Berto will defend his belt against Steve Forbes in a 12-round bout. Before the fight, the boxers talked to FOXSports.com about the fight, which can be seen at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT on HBO.

Steve Forbes

FOXSports.com: How's the training going so far?

Steve Forbes: Great!

FOXSports.com: How have you adjusted your training for this fight?

Forbes: I've been working hard and longer and it's been more intense. I'm running more, and I am training as hard as I ever have in my career.

FOXSports.com: What are you expecting from Berto in this fight?

Forbes: I'm expecting him to be confident and explosive — basically being a young fighter.

FOXSports.com: Coming off a loss to Oscar De La Hoya, how can you bounce back to beat Berto?

Forbes: I don't see it as coming off a loss. It's coming off an experience because Oscar is a legend in boxing and I learned a lot in that fight, things that I will show in this up and coming bout. That fight definitely boosted my game.

FOXSports.com: What do you want to tell your fans about what they should expect from you in the ring?

Forbes: Expect a very good fight and expect me to come home with the WBC belt.

Andre Berto

FOXSports.com: How has your training been going so far?

Andre Berto: It is going really good.

FOXSports.com: How have you adjusted your training for this particular fight?

Berto: Everything is basically the same. I have smaller, sharp boxers in to spar with me and the same with the conditioning regiment. I'm training hard as always.

FOXSports.com: What are you expecting from Steve Forbes in the ring?

Berto: I expect him to fight a smart fight and, at the same time, not be intimidated by my size. I have seen him in the past fighting bigger guys and he likes to stand his ground to show he isn't intimidated.

FOXSports.com: As a former Olympic boxer, what did you think of this year's U.S. Olympic team performance?

Berto: The U.S. had real good guys, but they aren't good for the Olympic point system. They will be great professionals with great talent.

FOXSports.com: What you want to tell your fans about what they should expect from you in the ring?

Berto: Same old me — a lot of speed, a lot of power, a lot of explosiveness and a really exciting fight.
