Most of the better women fighters are not in the US. I think the comments on this site explain why. The US sports fan for the most part, want to see the best athletes, period. The WNBA comment is the perfect example of this. You can take a second team all league high school basketball player out of LA and he would be a star if he could play in the WNBA. It's unfortunate though because I personally love a good competition between eqully matched, skilled athletes. Some of the most exciting wrestling I have watched, have been a competetive high school match, but I likely wouldn't pay $50 bucks to watch it on TV. That's really what we are talking about.

Hi guys. In response to your comments on female MMA fighters I agree they are great and an asset to any MMA organization. The few woman that have persue this as a viable career have heart and determination just by competing in a tough sport that just a few years ago was outlawed in many states because it was deemed to brutal. So I take my hat off to any female that gets into the cage regarless of their quality. Just like MMA in its infancy, it has taken years to develope elite well round guys like GSP, Penn, Couture, Alvis, Florian ect. Woman unfortunately don't have the availability of good sparring female collegues as men do. Sure they practice technique with men but they can't have full out practice brawls as the men do. See Gina's interviews where sheadmits that admits to the fact that getting good MMA sparring partners is difficult. I for one think that in a couple of more years we will see a female devision either in WEC or UFC because we as fans want to see it and are willing to pay for it regarless of what Dana thinks. str6torn4: dana white is human like all involved in the game and has his share of demons and mistakes. the point to keep in sight is that the sport evolved from his efforts outside of the ring which believe it or not are a part of the game too and a darn important one too. he is certainly not as bad as boxing promoters and managers who routinely leave their charges broke and broken. he respects his employees but instead of givint up the ship to them he keeps the promotion first which keeps us fans happy because there is mma available both ppv and free tv. dont be so negative to destroy the goose that laid the golden egg.

Well, the Ufc rocks no doubt. White has been the face of the orginization for a long time, thats respectable. But a lot goes on beyond the scope of popular media. d white is smart doing it the way he is. the fighters are an important part of the game but its good promoting that gives them a venue to fight in and that attracts fans. look at the success of the compitition where the fighters are over paid and you will see that White brings stability to the sport. elitexc, gone! affliction, gone! pride, gone! dont rag on White and the UFC, they are the best promotion by far without a doubt!

As much as I don't enjoy watching woman fight I don't think anyone has the right to tell them not to do it or stand in their way. To each is his own.

its amazes me to see the blatent prejeduce that women are subjected to . I have seen womens fights and they are just as entertaining as the men. the rocket scientist who made the statement that women are not men and they cant compete with the men. bright comment and totally not the point. women compete with women bo zo. I happen to watch the wnba and those games are entertaining too. do they dunk? almost never but that aspect of the mens game is way overrated. sometimes you have to judge a sport by its own merits and not compare it to something its not. both are fighting but both are appealing in their own way. that archaic way of thinking belongs in the stoneages not todays society. wise up people!

Hi guys. I belief everyone has a right to an opinion no matter how archeic it is. Women today are as athletic as men. Not to long ago women were not allowed to compete in running. Now in only a few decades women are posting better times in the sprint and marathons the only a handful of ellite men. Granted a female most likely will never be able to beat a man one on one in MMA but thats not the point. I rather see any of Gina's fight the the Filho/Sonnen (almost title) fight.They are not a side show. Personally, I would pay to see Gina vs Cyborg.

The girl fights with carano on elite xc were more entertaining then most ufc fights, especially when gina bent over. You cant lose when she fights cause if the fights boring its 0k because atleast you get to see that ass
