Boxing Briefs: Alvarez-Cintron set to go
ESPN is reporting that a bout between 21-year-old WBC junior middleweight titlist Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (38-0-1, 28 KOs) and former world titlist Kermit Cintron (33-4-1, 28 KOs) is officially signed for Nov. 26 as part of an HBO triple header also featuring Adrien Broner and Gary Russell Jr.

— Heavyweight contender Eddie Chambers (36–2, 18 KOs), has pulled out of his Oct. 28 IBF eliminator against Tony Thompson (36-1, 24 KOs) citing a back injury suffered in training.
— A junior welterweight bout between Ruslan Provodnikov (19-1, 13 KOs) and DeMarcus “Chop-Chop” Corley (37-18-1, 22 KOs) will headline a card in Ekaterinburg, Russia on Dec. 5.
— WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez (50-7, 44KOs), making the third defense of his belt, will face Panama’s Roinet Caballero (31-10-1, 22KOs) on Dec. 3 in Mexico City.
