--Duquesne's 21 wins last season were its most since the 1971 team went 21-4. The '71 Dukes, who lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Penn, finished the season ranked 15th in the Associated Press poll and 18th by UPI. It was also the first time since 1981 (20-10) and second time since 1972 (20-5) that Duquesne won 20 games in a season.

--C Morakinyo Williams, a 7-foot, 270-pound transfer from Kentucky, sat out the 2008-09 season per NCAA transfer guidelines. Williams, who was signed by Tubby Smith, played in five games last season for Billy Gillispie. A Top 100 recruit out of Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, Va., Williams will have three years of eligibility beginning this season.

--Duquesne has led the A-10 in scoring twice in three seasons under Ron Everhart. The 2007-08 Dukes were the highest-scoring A-10 team in 10 years in leading the conference for the second-straight season at 82.3 points a game. Last season's team averaged 78.3 points, second in the league.

LAST YEAR: 21-13 overall, 9-7 in the A-10; lost in the first round of the NIT at Virginia Tech, 116-108 in double overtime.

HEAD COACH: Ron Everhart (222-217); 4th year at Duquesne (48-45).

QUOTE TO NOTE: "Our returnees have an understanding of what it takes to compete at a high level and have a chance to win. If that leads to a team that competes hard and keeps its composure, we have a chance to be a pretty good ballclub." -- Coach Ron Everhart on his team.
