Cal State Fullerton Notes, Quotes
by Sports Xchange
--Former Cal State Fullerton standout Frank Robinson was released after appearing in three preseason games with the Atlanta Hawks. The undrafted rookie had his best game against the Detroit Pistons, posting two points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal in six minutes. Robinson likely will try to follow the path of another former Titan, Bobby Brown, who played overseas for one year before landing an NBA contract. The Minnesota Timberwolves traded Brown to the New Orleans Hornets in September.
LAST YEAR: 15-17 overall, 7-9 in the Big West.
HEAD COACH: Bob Burton (career 107-77); 7th year at Cal State Fullerton (107-77).
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I'm really excited about this team. Last year was a tough year. We won 15 games, and we knew that was going to happen because we lost eight important guys from the year before and only had two kids back. I think this is going to be a fun group to coach. There are a lot of things you can do with these guys. The future is bright, and that's where you want to be -- where you feel this team is really under the radar but has a chance to be there in the end, with the idea that they're going to be there the following year as well." -- Coach Bob Burton.
