Wesleyan men, women to host playoff games

Virginia Wesleyan College's men's and women's soccer teams will host Old Dominion Athletic Conference semifinal games today.

The Marlins women (16-3) play Roanoke College (12-6) in a 3:30 p.m. game. At 7 p.m., the men's team will carry a 14-3-2 mark into its game, also against Roanoke (12-5-3).

Winners of both games will advance to Saturday's ODAC championship games. If either Wesleyan team wins, it would host the title game.

Two from ODU cited for their academics

Old Dominion University juniors Adam Roscioli and Steffen Rabben have been named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District teams.

Roscioli, a defender, carries a 3.98 grade point average in exercise science and was named to the first team All-District squad. That makes him eligible for the Academic All-American squad, to be announced later this month.

Rabben, a forward, carries a 3.65 grade point average in economics, and was named to the second team.

He has four goals and one assist this season.

Also Tuesday, Nane Josph was selected to TopDrawerSoccer's men's College Team of the Week. The senior had a goal and two assists in the Monarchs' 3-0 victory over Drexel last week.
