Missouri State will introduce Purdue associate coach Cuonzo Martin at a 11 p.m. CT news conference, according to sources close to the situation.

Martin, 36, who has been an assistant at Purdue since 2000, grew up in East St. Louis, Ill. and played four seasons for the Boilermakers.

Martin was the first candidate to interview for the job when he visited the Springfield, Mo., campus yesterday.

Purdue, with an extremely young team, advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament and was knocked out by Xavier.

Barry Hinson was 169-117 in nine seasons at Missouri State, but was fired after failing to reach the NCAA tournament in his tenure.
