Mississippi State junior guard Jamont Gordon will declare for the NBA draft, and while he anticipates eventually signing with an agent, he will hold off for now.

"I'm definitely coming out," the 6-foot-4, 225-pound Gordon told FOXSports.com on Monday night. "In fact, I'm sending in the letter to the NBA tomorrow."

Gordon averaged 17.2 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game this past season in leading Mississippi State to the NCAA tournament, where the Bulldogs lost to Memphis in the second round.

"I definitely want to stay in the draft, but I'm going to wait until I sign with an agent in case I get hurt," Gordon said.

Gordon said he has heard that he is likely a first-round pick, but he hasn't heard back from the NBA Undergraduate Advisory Committee, which gives players an idea of where they will be selected after talking to various NBA executives.
