WAKE GETS PHILLY POINT GUARD
Aug 05, 2008 | 10:45AM | report this
I just got off the phone with St. John Neumann (Pa.) assistant coach John Mosco, whose top player, junior point guard Tony Chenault, committed to Wake Forest.

Chenault's stock has dropped a little recently, but the 6-foot-1 floor leader is still one of the top players at his position in the country.

Chenault has been to Wake three times - once as a freshman when the team played in a high school tournament, last season against N.C. State and then most recently, when he went down for the Chris Paul Camp.

``Chris is one of his favorite players and he loved the campus and the academic part of it," Mosco said. "(Wake assistant) Jeff Battle worked hard and played in the Public League and has known Tony's father from back in the 1980s."

Chenault also considered (and had offers from) Villanova, Indiana, Marquette, St. Joe's and Rutgers.

Jeff and Dino are two very fine people who also happen to be great coaches. Chenault is a good kid and will flourish under them.
