The tallest player in the country will likely miss the entire season.

According to sources close to the situation, Kenny George, a 7-foot-9, 370-pound senior at UNC Asheville, had a second surgery on his right foot and his status for the season is in question.

UNC Asheville coach Eddie Biedenbach told FOXSports.com that George is currently in the hospital and also said that George won't play the first semester since classes started about a month ago.

"We're disappointed in the turn of events regarding all the surgeries related to Kenny and his ability to play basketball," Biedenbach. "But our concern is not with basketball. It's with Kenny and his health."

George's career has been riddled by injuries. He suffered a dislocated kneecap his senior year of high school in Chicago, redshirted his freshman season of college due to academics and missed the 2005-06 campaign due a knee injury.

However, George averaged 12.4 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.3 blocks last year and played in 28 of the team's 33 games. He scored 14 points and had 11 boards in a 93-81 loss to North Carolina.

"He'd come so far since the beginning of last season," Biedenbach said. "It was actually scary how far he's come."

George began experiencing pain in his right foot on the final day of Pete Newell's Big Man Camp out in Las Vegas last month.
