The Jaguars were unable to find travel alternatives to Boulder for tonight's game. The game will not be rescheduled in 2008-09.
"I am very disappointed to miss this opportunity for our young team to play," Buffaloes coach Kathy McConnell-Miller said. "We were excited to get back to Boulder and have the chance to compete in front of our fans at the Coors Events Center."
CU next plays Dec. 20 at the Coors Events Center, hosting Missouri-Kansas City at 7 p.m.
MOBY MADNESS The NCAA volleyball regional in Fort Collins begins tonight without the host - Colorado State - many thought would be there.
No. 6 Hawaii (30-3) plays No. 17 Purdue (26-8) in the first match at 5 p.m., followed by No. 2 Stanford (28-3) and No. 10 Florida (27-3), which beat CSU last week in Gainesville, Fla.
While Hawaii and Stanford are expected to advance to Saturday's final, their coaches aren't so sure.
"I don't want to even hear that," Hawaii coach Dave Shoji said after a 90-minute workout. "We have business with a very good team, and we aren't even thinking about Saturday. We're thinking about Friday."
"Somebody might know something I don't," Stanford coach John Dunning said. "We have to play both matches."
TRACK HONOREES Adams State senior thrower Matt Gersick, a Pueblo West High School graduate, was named the men's indoor field athlete of the week by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and Western State junior high jumper Airrie Robinson, a Douglas County High School graduate, won the women's award.
Adams State sophomore sprinter Jerrell Miller was named the men's indoor track athlete of the week and Grizzlies sophomore hurdler Carla Kay Mills was named the top women's athlete.
COPPER QUALIFIERS Aspen resident Gretchen Bleiler, Minturn resident Clair Bidez and Steamboat Springs resident Madeline Schaffrick were among seven U.S. women who qualified for Saturday's halfpipe final at the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix event at Copper Mountain.
ON THE ASPHALT Boulder runner James Carney is set to defend his title as the top seed for the Houston Half Marathon on Jan. 18.
Former CU runner Dathan Ritzenhein is seeded second among entrants for the men's race. Former CU athlete Sara Slattery and Boulder resident Colleen De Reuvck have entered the women's race.
