MEN'S BASKETBALL: NORTH IDAHO COLLEGE SIGNS NCAA DIVISION I TRANSFERS

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho, June 17 -- North Idaho College issued the following news release:

Two NCAA Division I transfers recently signed to play for the North Idaho College men's basketball team for the 2009-2010 season. Logan Jones, a 6-foot-2-inch combo guard from Valparaiso University in Indiana, averaged 2.6 points per game and played in 29 games. He scored a career high 10 points against Butler University, which was ranked 13th in the nation at the time. He was also a three-time All-State selection while playing at Madison High School in Indiana. Ameer Shamsud-din, a 6-foot-2-inch combo guard, played in 24 games for California State University-Fullerton. He also averaged 20 points, 6.5 rebounds and four assists per game during his senior season at Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland, Ore. He was heavily recruited out of high school by universities such as Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, Southern Methodist, Nevada and Oregon State.
