BAKERSFIELD, Calif., Jan. 26 -- California State University Bakersfield issued the following press release:

THE DETAILS The CSUB women's basketball team hosts Cal Poly on Tuesday at 7 p.m in the Icardo Center. GAME NOTES Cal Poly enters Tuesday's contest with an 11-7 overall record after winning its two previous contests the Mustangs are 7-3 when playing at home and 4-4 on the road. Kristina Santiago leads the team with 14.1 points per game her 54.7 field goal percentage ranks 24th in the nation. Lisa McBride grabs a team-best 5.8 rebounds per game.

Cal Poly ranks 12th in the NCAA in assists per game (16.9), 24th in assist-to-turnover ratio (0.97) and 44th in team field goal percentage (43.2). SERIES HISTORY * This will be the second meeting between the Roadrunners and the Mustangs. * CSUB won last season's meeting, 64-59, in the Icardo Center. PREVIOUS MEETINGS 2008: @ 'Runners 64, Cal Poly 59 THIS DATE IN ROADRUNNER HISTORY CSUB is 2-1 when playing on January 27, splitting contests with CSU Stanislaus and defeating CSU San Bernardino in 2007, 59-51. LAST TIME WE MET Down by three with 2:04 remaining, Kelley Tarver (Valencia HS) nailed a three pointer and Nikhol West (Bakersfield HS) grabbed an offensive rebound and hit a free throw to put the 'Runners ahead for good as they defeated Cal Poly in a thriller, 64-59, in the Icardo Center last season. Tarver finished with 19 points while Naomi Johnson had 14 rebounds and 13 points. Tiffany Belt (Bakersfield/West HS) nailed four three pointers to score 15 points off the bench while Christine Kepenekian (Burbank HS) added 10 pointS. At the time, Cal Poly was tied for the lead in the Big West Conference. 'RUNNERS COME BACK TO TOPPLE TITANS CSUB moved its record against Big West opponents to 5-0 on Saturday with a road victory over Cal State Fullerton, 90-76. Kepenekian recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 22 points and a season-best 15 rebounds. Krista Arase (Monterey Park, Calif./Keppel HS) chipped in 19 points and Katie Williams (Las Vegas/Reedley College) scored 15 to extend her double-digit scoring streak to eight games. Saturday marked the first time this year CSUB has overcome a halftime defecit to win. Previously, the 'Runners were 0-7 when behind at the break. NATIONAL RANKS While the Roadrunners technically are not allowed to be included in the NCAA DI statistical rankings, the team, along with a couple players, entered the week ranked among the nation's best in several categories. CSUB's improvement is the nation's 25th best program turnaround from last season, with nine games yet to be played. RPI The 'Runners moved up 12 spots in the latest RPI rankings to 183 out of 340 NCAA DI teams. CSUB ranks fourth out of 16 DI Independent teams. DOUBLE FIGURES Nine different Roadrunners have scored in double figures this season, led by Kepenekian who has hit double-digits in 17-of-20 games this year. Allen and Arase each have 10 double-digit performances to their credit. Morgan Saso (Bakersfield/Univ. of New Mexico) and Williams have each hit double-figures nine times. Last season nine different players reached the double-figure scoring plateau. Saso, Kepenekian, Williams and Arase have recorded double-doubles this season. HOLDING 60 CSUB has held six opponents this season under 60 points. The Roadrunners now hold a perfect 80-0 all-time record when keeping opponents under 60 points. CSUB faces Houston Baptist, Idaho, UMKC, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Pacific, Saint Mary's and UCLA for the first time. WAITING FOR HISTORY After becoming the only school in NCAA history to make the NCAA tournament every year of its existence while competing in Division II, the 'Runners will have to wait two more seasons before they can hope to build upon that distinction as a Division I school.
