AUSTIN SWIFT TO BE NAMED CALIFORNIA COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF WEEK

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Jan. 20 -- California State Polytechnical University at Pomona issued the following press release:

Cal Poly Pomona's Austin Swift has been named Wilson California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 12-18. Swift, a 6-foot-5 junior from Santa Cruz, averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 and connected on 68 percent of his field goal attempts as the Broncos split a pair of road games at Humboldt State and Sonoma State. During a 61-55 loss at Humboldt State, Swift scored 17 points and collected five rebounds while hitting on 8-of-10 shooting from the field. He followed-up that performance with a career-high 24 points and four rebounds in a 77-76 overtime victory at Sonoma State.

Cal Poly Pomona returns to action on Friday when it hosts Cal State Monterey Bay beginning at 7:30 p.m. The Broncos conclude weekend play when they welcome San Francisco State for a 7:30 p.m. contest on Saturday.
