MUNCIE, Ind., March 13 -- Ball State University issued the following news release:

The Ball State University women's basketball team (22-8, 14-2 MAC) received a bye in the first round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament, which starts Wednesday in Cleveland, Ohio. The three-time MAC West Divisional champion Cardinals will face the No. 4 East seed Miami who defeated the No. 5 West seed Eastern Michigan Wednesday afternoon in Cleveland. Ball State will play in the quarterfinals Friday at 1 p.m against the RedHawks. Ball State has already defeated Miami once this season.
