Indiana Strategy and Personnel
by Sports Xchange
DE Jammie Kirlew -- Kirlew has been IU's best defender this season, and his high motor will force Purdue to give him plenty of attention. That should free up his teammates, such as DE Greg Middleton, to be more of a presence in the backfield.
PK Austin Starr -- It was Starr's 49-yard field goal that won the game for IU last season, and he would love to do it again in his final game in an Indiana uniform. The Hoosiers need a consistent performance from him to avoid leaving any points on the field.
CB Chris Adkins -- Adkins will be playing in his first Bucket game, and he must be prepared to be aggressive in stopping the ball. Adkins has done a good job of not giving up big plays this season, but he must be more active when it comes to breaking up passes to get IU's defense off the field.
ROSTER REPORT:
--CB Richard Council is day-to-day with a knee injury, and his status will be evaluated later in the week.
--Head coach Bill Lynch won't name a starter for the game at quarterback until later in the week, but he said the team's QBs are healthier now than they have been in weeks.
--The improved health at quarterback will allow WR Mitchell Evans to return to action on the perimeter in the passing game and will allow him to once again be a part of IU's special teams.
