Worth a thousand words:
But it's the team that handed the Sooners their only loss of the season that would be playing in the BCS championship game against No. 1 Alabama if the season ended Sunday.
After the Red Raiders' 65-21 loss, Big 12 rival Texas took over the No. 2 spot in this week's BCS standings with the Sooners right behind, rising from No. 5 to No. 3.
Florida, meanwhile, stayed put at No. 4 even after its rout of The Citadel in Gainesville, and USC (No. 5) and Utah (No. 6) each moved up a spot from last week.
Texas Tech, on the other hand, dropped to No. 7, one spot ahead of Penn State, which clinched a Rose Bowl berth Saturday with a win over Big Ten rival Michigan State yet failed to move up in this week's standings.
Boise State, moving to 11-0 with its 41-34 win over Nevada, didn't see any upward movement either, remaining at No. 9, a position that would still not earn the Broncos a BCS bowl bid if they're there when the final BCS standings are announced Dec 7.
While the Big 12 could have two teams in BCS bowls in January, the Big Ten also could have two teams in the BCS equation when the regular season concludes, as Ohio State remained at No. 10 this week with its blowout victory over traditional rival Michigan.
TCU, out of the Mountain West, will still need outside help after moving up to No. 14 this week with its win over Air Force, and MAC representative Ball State, which rallied in the fourth quarter to overcome Central Michigan on Wednesday, climbed two spots to No. 15.
The 11-0 Cardinals, however, need a win Tuesday against Western Michigan and several teams ahead of them in the standings to lose in the next two weeks to claim an at-large berth.

so what you are saying is texas is not very good??

if tech was overrated, and texas got beat by them, then texas is worse than an overrated team. thanks for clearing that up for me.

bigdaddy, can you imagine through the years what kind of epic games would could have watched if there would have been even a 4 team playoff...
each year we the fans are left without seeing some of the greatest college football games that might have been ever played... if there would have been a playoff system in place...
the ones really getting screwed here are the FANS!!! the ones who pay the price of admission, buy memorabilia, spend money at the stadiums etc etc etc...
if it wasnt for the fans in any sport there IS NO SPORT...
PsychoNinjas_6911/25/2008 14:52:00 PM(Report inappropriate content)
Dan0352

Thanks. For a sooner looser at least you're helping the cause.

bigg__daddy

tech was overrated. the true powerhouses are texas and ou.
admann7311/25/2008 14:51:00 PM(Report inappropriate content)
why is it that division 1 football is the only college sport with out a playoff???? it is all about the money. sure they say it would be unfair to the student athlete to add more games to the season, but division 2 and 3 both have a playoff, they don't really care about the student athlete, it is all about the money. so you are right you can't say one team is better than another team because they were voted that way or a computer program said it was that way. untill we have a real playoff system in place the title of national champion is just that......a title.
11/25/2008 14:43:00 PM(Report inappropriate content)
to be a TRUE number 1 you HAVE to beat the best of ALL the rest, which i believe all these teams want to do... otherwise its all speculation...

admann 73 you need to look into your comments before you make them. Texas is part of the Big 12 South not the North and if your website oneoh1 worked it might be a good idea to have someone with half a brian to look over it before yo post your comments.
