UT win big for seniors

There was senior Quan Cosby diving into the end zone for the game-winning touchdown to complete a career night in which he caught 14 passes for 171 yards and two TDs. And then classmate Brian Orakpo opened the final series by sacking the Buckeyes' Todd Boeckman for a 10-yard loss.
And not to be forgotten is senior defensive tackle Roy Miller. It was only appropriate that he picked up the Fiesta Bowl defensive MVP honors after recording three tackles and a sack.
Some of UT's seniors started their careers in 2004, when the Horns came back to beat Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Texas won a national title the next season and on Monday night earned its third BCS victory in five years with its comeback.
"Those guys are special," UT coach Mack Brown said. "To play in three BCS games ... and play Michigan, USC and Ohio State is about as good as it gets when you are at the University of Texas."
But if Brown plans to put Texas at the top of his USA Today coaches' poll ballot, the highest the Longhorns will be is No. 2.
The 65 members of the American Football Coaches Association with a vote are under agreement to name the BCS title game winner - either Florida or Oklahoma - their No. 1 team, AFCA spokesman Todd Bell said Tuesday.
"I wasn't sure before, but Friday morning I'm going to vote Texas No. 1 because I think this is the best team in the country," Brown said Monday night.
Under the voting agreement, the coaches are voting for Nos. 2-25 on their ballot, Bell said.
Brown voted Texas No. 2 behind Florida in the final regular-season poll and said he would do "a lot of soul-searching" to determine whether he will participate next season.
