Football OSU/OU players to play in East-West Shrine game: Oklahoma State punter Matt Fodge will play for the West team in Saturday's East-West Shrine Game at Robertson Stadium at the University of Houston. Fodge, winner of the Ray Guy Award, will be joined by University of Oklahoma receiver Manuel Johnson, center Jon Cooper and safety Lendy Holmes.

Smith joins Arkansas staff: Former Michigan State coach John L. Smith has been hired by Arkansas as special teams coordinator. Soccer TU players selected in MLS SuperDraft: University of Tulsa men's soccer standouts Tyrel Lacey and Chris Clements were selected in the fourth round of the Major League Soccer SuperDraft. Lacey, a four-year lettermen from Jenks, was the 55th overall pick and was selected by the New England Revolution, while Clements, from Allen, Texas, was the 60th selection by the Columbus Crew. Softball OU preseason favorite: University of Oklahoma softball team received nine of 10 first-place votes for 81 points to receive top billing in the 2009 Big 12 coaches' preseason poll. Missouri (68) was second in the poll followed by Texas A&M (60). Tennis TU wins: The 13th-ranked University of Tulsa men's tennis team defeated University of Central Florida 6-1, at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Friday.
