CINCINNATI -- The Bengals have released two punters, clearing the way for fifth-round draft pick Kevin Huber to take the job.

Former Nebraska punter Kyle Larson and Ryan Plackemeier were let go Tuesday.

Larson has been the Bengals' punter for the past five seasons. He averaged 39.5 yards on 100 punts last season.

In other Bengals news, Texas receiver Quan Cosby has agreed to terms after going undrafted during the weekend.

Former Mav Souder

signs with Saints

Former University of Nebraska at Omaha linebacker Jeff Souder has signed a free agent contract with the New Orleans Saints, according to the Maverick coaching staff.

Souder, 6-foot and 235 pounds, led UNO with 74 tackles, including seven for losses, and made the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association all-conference first team last season. He was the North Central Conference's most valuable linebacker in 2007.

Souder, from Bellevue West, spent one season playing special teams at Nebraska before transferring to UNO.

Ex-Cyclone

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State linebacker Michael Bibbs has signed a free-agent contract with the NFL's Green Bay Packers.

Bibbs is the second Cyclone to earn a contractual invitation to an NFL camp. Offensive lineman Doug Diedrick signed with the Houston Texans on Monday.

Bibbs made 67 tackles during the past two seasons in 19 games. He also had 4 1/2 tackles for loss and two interceptions. Bibbs had a career-high nine tackles in the 2008 season opener against South Dakota State.

The Atlanta native came to Iowa State after two years at CopiahLincoln (Miss.) Community College.
