JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY 'S SPRING FOOTBALL GAME SET FOR APRIL 25

Prizes will be awarded throughout the day's events, including a portable DVD player and bobbleheads of JMU coaches Matt Brady and Kenny Brooks. The stadium's game-day concession stands will be open, and the inflatable games that are regular parts of JMU football -related activities will be in use. JMU's Chick-fil-A Puppy Pound will be open for its members; Rosie the Clown will be face painting; and Duke Dog will be in attendance. Representatives from JMU's athletics ticket office will be on hand to provide information on purchasing 2009 JMU football game tickets. The Duke Club tailgate on Godwin Field will be open to 2009 Duke Club members and will continue from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Barbeque and beverages will be provided, and those renewing their Duke Club membership or bringing a new member to the club will receive a free t-shirt, as supplies last. The spring game concludes JMU's spring practice period. College teams are allowed 15 days of spring drills annually. The Dukes are preparing for an 11-game 2009 schedule that will begin with a Sept. 12 game at Maryland. JMU will play other non-conference games Sept. 19 at home against Virginia Military Institute and Sept. 26 at Liberty before beginning an eight-game Colonial Athletic Association schedule Oct. 3 at Hofstra. JMU a year ago compiled a 12-2 season record, won the CAA championship and reached the semifinals of the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.
