He helped paved the way for another outstanding season offensively, as the Owls ranked tops in the league in scoring and total offense and were second in both passing yards and rushing yards/game. Wiechman, the 2008 Northeast-10 Offensive Player of the Year, stepped into the starting tailback role after Jarom Freeman went down with an injury in week three. An All-Region and All-ECAC honoree, he never looked back, rushing for 1,047 yards and 13 touchdowns. Wiechman led the league in scoring (96 points) and touchdowns (16). During the course of the regular season, he was named Northeast-10 and ECAC Player of the Week on two occasions. Wiechman was also named to the league's weekly honor roll twice. The Owls closed the 2008 season on Nov. 15 with a loss to No. 20 nationally ranked West Chester in the first round of the NCAA Playoffs.
