SU FOOTBALL OPENER TO BE SHOWN ON ESPN2

The Doug Marrone era at Syracuse University will begin with a nationally televised game against Minnesota on ESPN2 at noon Sept. 5 in the Carrier Dome.

Then the Orange travels to State College , Pa., to face Penn State on Sept. 12 in another noon game.

Seven of SU's first eight games are at home, including a Sept. 19 contest against Northwestern that will honor former head coach Dick MacPherson for his National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame induction.

All 2009 tickets are available online (www.suathletics.com) and at the Carrier Dome box office (888-DOMETIX).
