Bobby Abare, a former standout linebacker at Yale, has been hired as the linebackers coach at Wagner College , athletic director and head coach Walt Hameline announced yesterday.

At Yale, Abare was a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All-American and a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, which is given to the best linebacker from FCS schools. A three-time All-Ivy and All-New England selection, Abare was the Bulldogs' leading tackler last season and team MVP.

"We're thrilled to add Bobby Abare to the Wagner program," Hameline said in an official statement. "His passion and knowledge of the game will be major assets and I think he is well-equipped to translate that success to our players."
