Report: Head injury could sideline Ohio State's Moeller
by FOXSports.com
Tyler Moeller, a fourth-year junior who was expected to start at strong side linebacker for the Buckeyes this fall, will probably miss the entire season because of a head injury, the Columbus Post-Dispatch reported Monday.
Moeller remained hospitalized and in fair condition Sunday night at Ohio State University Medical Center, the paper reported. Unnamed sources indicated Moeller was injured when he hit his head on the ground during a family trip, but some media outlets have reported that he was punched. He was not immediately hospitalized, but apparently suffered a seizure recently, the paper reported.
Moeller started the final two regular-season games last season. He had 18 tackles in 2008, and was expected to replace Marcus Freeman as the Buckeyes' strong-side linebacker. He was Ohio's Division I Defensive Player of the Year as a senior in high school.
Although he redshirted as a true freshman, Moeller might petition for a medical redshirt and a sixth year of eligibilty.
