cant get my posts to post..............testing testing testing 7/5/2009 12:55:29 PM(Report inappropriate content) Just bought my tickets to the Wash St game in San Antonio. The ND website has lots of great tickets and they are reasonable too!! I had given up on my father and I going to another ND game together. 7/5/2009 12:53:13 PM(Report inappropriate content) WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THIS SITE???? ITS SKIPPING EVERYTHING? 7/3/2009 21:17:04 PM(Report inappropriate content) Gran, you don't feel sheet, maybe a lot of stupidity! 7/2/2009 16:15:47 PM(Report inappropriate content) Gran Dummy, it's the cocaine you are feeling, not football~! 7/2/2009 16:14:42 PM(Report inappropriate content) Vinny, seems likes it get longer away everytime I look. I guess we all can't wait to see what is going to happen. 6/24/2009 18:34:00 PM(Report inappropriate content) i have a gut feeling it will be a great year. 6/24/2009 15:15:00 PM(Report inappropriate content) I CANT WAIT FOR THE SEASON TO START!!! ITS KILLIN ME! 6/24/2009 15:09:00 PM(Report inappropriate content) GT, I agree, rich people don't do that sort of thing. 6/24/2009 13:49:00 PM(Report inappropriate content) moreover, who wants a barry switzer, guns, cocaine, prostitutes, type program?

i "think" thats irishbrians point...or part of it.

once the bar is lowered we open the door for all kinds of "things". 6/24/2009 10:02:00 AM(Report inappropriate content) TG...excellent post. I am a conservative, bill oreilly and all. however when it comes to a quality young person, like your daughter i'm quite sure, i say give 'em a chance. they will succeed.

but as in your post...the line becomes gray...and is open to all sorts of letigation... 6/24/2009 9:53:00 AM(Report inappropriate content) hmmmm

#### number 1 was s u i t s

#### number 2 was g h e t t o 6/24/2009 9:33:00 AM(Report inappropriate content) Gran,
I hear where you're coming from but people have to remember that Notre Dame is a private school. It isn't a state run program and doesn't receive funding like most other schools.

So with that in mind, ND has to be more selective on who they accpet into their university. Obviously they can't have a review board made up of guys like us. With a review board, they could get caught up in passing judgements on their sports abilities. But with that would come a flood of law suits screaming discrimination by those not accepted. So how can a private university draw the line as to who makes it and most of all, who can afford it so they can pay bills?

It's a very strict and thorough entrance exam. But even with that one must have the financial capabilities to pay. Again, ND is not a state run facility and can't wait for payment 20 years down the line line state schools.

Nobody is saying that some kid from the ghetto couldn't make it and graduate. In order to drive the Ferrari home, at some point you're gunna have to pay for it before it leaves the lot. That's not on the Ferrari, that's on the buyer.

My oldest daughter had what it took academically to go to ND. She was a 4.0 throughout her high school years, graduated as a junior, valedictorian. Qualified for some financial aid but not enough to pay for her education. God knows I didn't have the money. Would it had been nice for someone to say, "hey! c'mon in anyways!" but that's not how life works. If you open the door like that for one, you'd better be prepared to do it for all and ND just is not in that position. 6/24/2009 9:30:00 AM(Report inappropriate content) i know i'm generally dismissed on this board. anyway...

none of you think there are quality athletes out there, with high moral standards, raised by quality parents...like a dwight howard on the orlando magic that may not be "smart" enough to pass the nd academic standards...but would if given the chance, could graduate with hard work and would contribute greatly to the program?????

it sounds like elitism at times on this board. 6/24/2009 9:06:00 AM(Report inappropriate content) Sea,

You never put you were quoting someone. Then you go on to talk about how the price of tuition is proportionate to the value of the education.

So don't worry about checking facts. Just take what someone says and run with it. You thought SC's was a lot lower b/c someone said so. That makes you look foolish. 6/24/2009 6:47:00 AM(Report inappropriate content) Seamus

I don't want to mislead you, I'm just a "subway alumni"(that's why the name, like John Q Public) but if and when my son decides to go I'll find a way. John_Q_Irish6/23/2009 20:06:00 PM(Report inappropriate content) The Ivy League does it right. They don't offer scholarships.

I got the information from the respective colleges' fees and tuition home page. Duh. 6/23/2009 19:57:00 PM(Report inappropriate content) SEAMUS

I agree with you.

If ND somehow decided to lower their academic standard than it would never be the same on game day Saturday. I don't think I could ever see ND in the same way as I use to. There just wouldn't be that special feeling after a ND win.

GO IRISH! 6/23/2009 19:27:00 PM(Report inappropriate content) John,
Have you written those checks lately? Sounds as though those numbers are fresh in your mind!
GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!!! 6/23/2009 18:44:00 PM(Report inappropriate content) |
