--SEC guards like John Wall of Kentucky, Devan Downey of South Carolina, Scotty Hopson of Tennesee, and Chris Warren and Terrico White of Mississippi must be looking forward to games against Arkansas. Visiting guards Reggie Holmes of Morgan State, Tommy Hubbard of East Tennessee State, and Martino Brock of South Alabama scored 34, 32, and 21 points, respectively, in leading their teams to victories over the Razorbacks.

--The Razorbacks added three recruits to their early signing class. They were Mardracus Wade, a 6-2 guard from Memphis who is playing at Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia; Rickey Scott, a 6-3 combo guard from MacArthur High in Irving, Texas, and Marvell Waithe, a 6-9 junior college forward who is a preseason All-American choice at Tallahassee Community College in Florida.

KEY EARLY-SEASON CONFERENCE GAME: vs. Alabama, Jan. 16 -- The Hogs open league play on the road at Mississippi State. If they lose to the Bulldogs, they need to beat the Tide and Florida in their next two outings, both at home, to avoid the kind of early slide that put them so far down last season they never recovered.

LAST YEAR'S CONFERENCE RECORD: 2-14, finished in sixth in the Western Division.
