Le Moyne ended Franklin Pierce's men's soccer season while setting up a showdown with Southern New Hampshire yesterday in Syracuse, N.Y. The host Dolphins nipped the Ravens, 1-0, in an NCAA East Region semifinal. Le Moyne's Angelo Reina scored a 65th minute game winner, and Dolphins goalie Steve White (4 saves) did the rest. FPU goalie Vinny Papageorgiou made two saves. The Ravens finished 13-5-3. Le Moyne next meets SNHU in Saturday's region final. The site and time will be announced today. Brown 3, Dartmouth 0: The Big Green's Ivy League title hopes were dashed in Providence, R.I. Dartmouth (10-6-1 overall / 4-3 Ivy) hopes to earn an NCAA Division I Tournament berth, and will receive word today at 5:30 p.m. Women's Soccer Keene State wins ECAC Tournament: The Owls captured a penalty kick shootout from Brandeis to take the Division III crown in Waltham, Mass. No goals were scored in regulation. KSC (16-6-3) goalie Megan Dempsey stopped two penalty kicks to earn the tournament's most valuable player award. Men's Basketball Southern NH 72, Bridgeport 69 (ot): The host Penmen forced overtime with a buzzer beater, and outplayed the Purple Knights in extra time. Marcus Matthews led SNHU in its season debut with 13 points. St. Anselm 95, Holy Family 78: Thomas Baudinet poured in 27 points to lead the Hawks to a season opening win in Philadelphia. St. Anselm faces city rival SNHU on Wednesday (7:30 p.m.). Plymouth State 65, NE College 45: The Panthers kicked off the 10th Annual Jacob's Bridge through Autism Classic by beating the Pilgrims in Concord. Tom Dowd led PSU with 10 points. Eric Lenahan led NEC with 10. George Mason 60, Dartmouth 44: Midway through the second half, George Mason had runs of 9-0 and then 11-0 to take control of this contest. David Rufful led the visiting Big Green with 13 points in Fairfax, Va. Keene State 85, Colby-Sawyer 82: The Owls rallied to win the Jacob's Bridge nightcap. KSC's Derek D'Amours set a Classic record with 33 points. Jon Chaloux paced the Chargers with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Daniel Webster 90, Johnson State 73: Salem's Chris Hanson led the Eagles with 25 points in their season opener. Women's Basketball Southern NH 84, Mercy 52: Derry's Jenny McDade scored a career high 24 points to power the host Penmen in their season opener. Henniker's Libby Cullerot added 11 points. Sloane Sorrell and Christine Duffy had 10 each. St. Anselm 58, Post 35: Hawk coach DeAnn Craft won her debut behind the play of sophomore guard Epiphany Smith in Manchester. Smith led the winners with 20 points. Daniel Webster 48, Johnson State 36: The Eagles won their season opener in Johnson, Vt. Vanessa Bosques led the winners with 23 points. Plymouth State 72, Johnson & Wales 51: Laura Kent had 25 points and 15 rebounds and Alicia Doucet of Manchester added 23 points and 9 rebounds as PSU picked up a road win in Providence, R.I. Women's Volleyball UNH 3, UMBC 0: Lindsay Fogarty (10 kills) led UNH to this America East sweep. in Durham. UNH is 13-14 overall, and 5-5 in league play.
