Golden victory: Cal upsets Arizona

The Wildcats pulled within two points several times after that, but the Golden Bears' lead reached as high as 12 when Powe's jumper capped a 10-0 burst to make it 29-17 with 9:44 remaining in the first half.

"He did a great job," Braun added. "If you look at the improvement he's had so far...just in passing the ball out of double teams. He had to make some very good reads tonight. I was very happy with his effort tonight."

Arizona got as close as 49-46 late, but 's jumper at the end of the half gave a 51-46 lead heading into the break.

The Golden Bears were a scorching 20-of-34 from the floor in the first half, including 8-of-14 from beyond the arc. The Wildcats went 17-of-31 from the field.
