--Providence transfer Dwain Williams, who started the first four games, then served a two-game team suspension for a violation of team rules, according to coach Bob Nash. "He has some class stuff to take care of," Nash said. Williams averaged 13.3 points in the first four games, second-best on the Warriors.

--Senior F Petras Balocka had a career-high 16 rebounds against New Mexico on Nov. 27. The 16 rebounds marked the highest total for a Hawaii player in five years.

KEY EARLY-SEASON CONFERENCE GAME: vs. Idaho, Jan. 2 -- Hawaii starts conference play at home against the Vandals, followed by a visit from Boise State. The Warriors, often so tough at home, have lost much of that invincibility in recent seasons, going only 3-6 in league game last season at the Stan Sheriff Center. Idaho, with its super backcourt, figures to be a tough matchup for Hawaii, which will have to assert itself in the paint. The Warriors are big at the wings and in the post, which led to a rebounding margin of about plus-6 per game through six contests.

LAST YEAR'S CONFERENCE RECORD: 5-11, eighth place in the WAC.
