WHAT WE LEARNED IN NOVEMBER: The Nebraska lineup, and even its rotations, remained a work in progress as coach Doc Sadler integrated eight newcomers into his system. The biggest key was establishing roles, which for Sadler almost always begins on the defensive end. In order to earn minutes, newcomers needed to show some acumen guarding opponents. Offensive execution improved, too, with the Huskers committing just seven turnovers in back-to-back wins against UMKC and USC.

DECEMBER AT A GLANCE: The biggest showdown each season for those who follow college hoops in Nebraska is the annual matchup pitting the Huskers against Creighton. Anytime Nebraska plays in Omaha the challenge is particularly difficult against an in-state opponent that consistently contends in the Missouri Valley. A home game against Oregon State, as well as a berth in the Las Vegas Classic, makes this a busy month for the Huskers and gives coach Doc Sadler a nice opportunity to blend his pieces.

PLAYER ROTATION: Usual Starters -â¿¿ F Brandon Ubel, C Jorge Brian Diaz, G Sek Henry, G Lance Jeter, G Ryan Anderson. Key Subs -â¿¿ G Eshaunte Jones, G Ray Gallegos, G Brandon Richardson, G Adrien Coleman.

ROSTER REPORT:

--G Toney McCray, who is out with a detached elbow ligament, was scheduled to undergo surgery on Dec. 7.

--G Brandon Richardson played only eight minutes against Texas-Pan American before he reinjured a nagging back injury after getting blindsided on a pick. His immediate status was uncertain.

--G Ryan Anderson cracked Nebraska's all-time top 10 for steals by bumping his career total to 130 with four thefts against Texas-Pan American.
