Baylor's Jones suspended at least one game for NCAA violation
KANSAS CITY, Mo.
According to sports radio station 610 in Kansas City, Jones is suspended for at least one game, and his career at the school may be done. KEYE-TV in Austin, Tex., also reported that Jones will sit out Wednesday.
Baylor has yet to release a statement on Jones' status. The nature of the alleged violation is unclear.
Jones, a highly-touted 6-foot-11 freshman, is averaging 13.9 points and 7.2 rebounds this season and is projected as a top-five NBA draft pick.
Baylor, with a record of 18-12 (7-9 in Big 12 play), is desperately in need of a few victories in Kansas City to improve its chances of making the NCAA Tournament.
