The 72-year-old Snyder coaches in a stadium named after him. Snyder returned to Manhattan in 2009 after a four-year retirement that was preceded by a successful 17-season run at Kansas State. After a 7-6 mark in 2010, Snyder led the Wildcats to a 10-2 season and a berth in the Cotton Bowl Jan. 6 (on FOX) vs. Arkansas.

Rutgers fans got their feel-good moment of the year when LeGrand led the Scarlet Knights onto the field prior to their game against West Virginia on Oct. 29. LeGrand, who is paralyzed from a hit suffered during the 2010 season against Army, is making progress in his rehabilitation and even served as a radio analyst for the Rutgers Football Network.

While neither of the past two Stanford seasons ended with a national championship or a Heisman Trophy for QB Andrew Luck (pictured), the Cardinal have plenty to be proud about. Back-to-back 12-1 seasons and BCS bowl appearances has Stanford firmly placed in the top three programs in the Pac-12 and while the offseason departure of Luck is sure to slow things a bit, the Cardinal and coach David Shaw will be a national fixture for years to come.

Not a bad year for RG3. Two years removed from a knee injury that cost him the 2009 season, Griffin becomes Baylor's first Heisman Winner after gaining 4,642 yards of total offense and scoring 47 touchdowns (39 through air). The Bears finished the season 9-3 including epic wins over both Oklahoma and Texas.
