LB Kuechly will enter NFL draft

BOSTON (AP)
Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly, a two-time All-America selection who led the nation in tackles in 2011, has decided to enter the NFL draft.
Kuechly, a junior, announced the decision in a conference call with reporters Friday night.
''It's tough to end one thing and start another,'' Kuechly said. ''It was a really tough decision. The biggest thing for me was talking to my family.''
Mock drafts project Kuechly as a first-rounder, most likely somewhere in the middle of the round.
A 6-foot-3, 237-pound linebacker who had 191 tackles this season, Kuechly was honored with the Butkus Award, the Bronko Nagurski Award and the Lombardi Award. He was the only unanimous selection to the all-ACC first-team defense this season and the biggest star on a 4-8 team that failed to reach a bowl game for the first time since 1998.
''It didn't go how we wanted it to, but that's football,'' he said.
