Simulated season strange

EA Sports' NCAA Football 10 projected a strange 2009-10 college football season Friday. The Oklahoman simulated a season on the latest version of the video game classic, and, among other things, Oklahoma receiver Adron Tennell finished fifth in the Heisman Trophy voting, Ole Miss beat North Carolina in the Orange Bowl, TCU bested Pittsburgh in the Sugar Bowl and Oklahoma State beat OU by 21 in Norman, but lost by 15 to Colorado at home. OU was without star running back DeMarco Murray throughout the majority of its season, as he went down with an injury early. But Chris Brown didn't miss a beat, finishing with 1,417 yards, 16 touchdowns and the Doak Walker Award as the nation's top back. The Sooners lost twice, to rivals Texas and OSU, but went on to win the Rose Bowl against Oregon 21-14. OSU finished 9-3, with losses to Georgia, Texas and Colorado but a bowl victory Cowboys fans would be happy with - a 29-22 Cotton Bowl win over former coach Les Miles and LSU. OU quarterback Sam Bradford, the 2008 Heisman Trophy winner, wasn't a finalist for the award in the simulated season, but still had a strong year. He finished with 3,106 yards passing, 35 touchdowns and just six interceptions. Cowboys quarterback Zac Robinson had 2,517 yards passing, 26 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Running back Kendall Hunter finished with 1,385 yards and 12 scores, while receiver Dez Bryant grabbed 75 catches for 975 yards and 11 touchdowns. Texas was Big 12 champion, defeating Nebraska 31-20 in the conference title game. Several state players are at the top of their respective positions, ratings-wise. Bradford is tied for the top quarterback rating at 99 with Florida's Tim Tebow. Bryant, with a 97 overall rating, is tied as the top receiver with Illinois' Arrelious Benn. OU's Jermaine Gresham is the top tight end on the game with a 99 overall rating, and Gerald McCoy is the top defensive tackle. Tebow, who finished behind Colt McCoy in the simulated Heisman race, led Florida to what would be its third national championship in the last four years with a 31-14 victory over Penn State.
