Report: Star recruit faces rape charges

A top high school football recruit spent part of Wednesday's National Signing Day standing before a judge after being charged with two counts of rape.
Roger Lewis, a highly touted wide receiver out of Ohio's Pickerington High School Central, was arraigned on charges that he raped an 18-year-old female classmate, WBNS-TV reported.
A judge set Lewis' bond at $75,000, which his attorney said would be posted Wednesday, according to the report. The judge also ordered the star athlete to wear an ankle monitor upon his release.
The alleged victim claims the rapes took place in December and on Jan. 6, at which time a police report was filed. She has since filed a protection order against Lewis, according to WBNS.
Lewis, 18, reportedly surrendered to police Tuesday after a near monthlong investigation. He was held overnight on a $250,000 bond.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound wideout was expected to finalize where he would play college football next fall on Wednesday, choosing between Ohio University, Bowling Green or Marshall, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Lewis, a three-star prospect who was ranked the 89th best receiver in the 2012 class by Scout.com, committed to Ohio State last August, but was later ruled academically ineligible to attend the Big Ten school.
