PHILADELPHIA (AP)
Matt Brown ran for 123 yards and a touchdown and Temple beat Miami (Ohio) 24-21 on Wednesday night to snap a two-game losing streak.
Brown was filling in for Bernard Pierce, the star running back who sustained a head injury against Ohio in the Owls' last game.
Chris Coyer, making his first career start, was 10 of 19 for 92 yards and a touchdown and ran for 97 yards and a score for the Owls (6-4, 4-3 Mid-American).
Miami's Nick Harwell had 15 receptions for 229 yards, both school records, and two touchdowns. Zac Dysert passed for 364 yards and three TDs, completing 28 of 37 passes with two interceptions for the Redhawks (4-6, 3-3).
