Crying Georgia fan wants Richt fired
This latest indignity in a "big" game, coming on the heels of the SEC title game loss, finally broke at least one of the Bulldog faithful.
No matter how rough your team's opening weekend of college football was, I hope you managed to avoid crying on a sports talk radio show.
It's come to this, Mark Richt has officially driven Georgia fans crazy.
The scene: Atlanta's 92.9's, "The Night Cap," show is taking late-night reaction calls to the Georgia-Clemson game. A Bulldog fan calls in and this is what it sounds like:
Y'all it's OK, he and his daddy were both big fans.
Notwithstanding the above tears, Georgia has opened as a five-point favorite over South Carolina this upcoming weekend.
Last year, Georgia came within five yards of winning the SEC title game after losing by 28 points in the state of South Carolina to the Gamecocks. After that loss, Georgia fans egged starting quarterback Aaron Murray's house.
My point? It's a long season and two of three toughest games remaining for Georgia are at home. Beat South Carolina and LSU at home in the next month and the Bulldogs should be sitting pretty when the cocktail party rolls around in late October. Win that one and Georgia would probably advance to Atlanta to play Alabama for an SEC title.
So all is far from lost.
In the meantime, hunker down Bulldog fans.
For the rest of us, let this be a lesson, whatever else happens try not to call into your favorite sports talk station and cry about your team and your coach after a big loss. Because if you do, Outkick the Coverage might get a copy of that audio and make your tears go viral.
