Johnson made the admission Thursday on the Stoney and Bill Show on 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit.
"He rung my bell pretty good," Johnson said of Greenway, who was fined $21,000 by the NFL. "He got me. He caught me around the chin. That was a good hit.
"It's part of football. You get concussed."
Johnson remained out of the game for a while, but he later returned after being examined by doctors. Lions coach Jim Schwartz vehemently denied any wrongdoing by the club.
"Our evaluation was he was not concussed," Schwartz told reporters Thursday. "He was thoroughly checked. He was cleared to go back in the game. He was on a protocol after that, and he was cleared then."
Concussions have become a hot topic in the NFL in recent years. Many former players have filed a lawsuit against the league for negligence in the treatment of head injuries in the past.
Running back Jahvid Best expects to find out Friday whether he will be cleared for conact after undergoing a series of tests earlier this week. Best hasn't played in about a year because of a head injury. If he gets clearance, Best could return to practice next week and be eligible to play in the Lions' game at Chicago on Oct. 15.
