| How are matchup ratings calculated? |
Each player begins with 1 to 3 stars based on their ranking within the FOX Sports Player Rankings.
From there, the ballpark plays a factor in which a star may be added, removed or have no effect. For hitters, playing in an offensive park helps and a pitcher's park hurts. Vice versa for pitchers
Finally, competition plays a factor where a strong opponent can remove a star, a weak opponent can gain a star or an average opponent can have no effect. For pitchers, it's about the quality of the opposing lineup. For hitters, it's about the strength of the opposing scheduled starting pitcher. |
