Cook took the loss on Tuesday night against the Twins, allowing a two-run home run in the eighth inning.
Cook has been very solid all year, but a closer look shows that he has allowed more base runners than usual as of late. Cook had a 1.06 WHIP on the season through August 1, but his WHIP has been 1.57 in his last 14.2 innings pitched. His ERA has still been strong, but he has been flirting with trouble in many of his appearances and that is something to keep in mind before you employ Cook for the last two and half weeks of the season, especially if you are in any close battles in the WHIP category.
