Lackey didn't make it out of the fifth inning Tuesday, giving up five earned runs, nine hits and a walk in 4.1 innings, while striking out three Rays.

Impact
Lackey was coming off a pretty good outing against the Twins, but the Rays bats have been on a bit of a roll, and this is still a guy who was perhaps the worst pitcher in all of baseball in 2011, so nothing should be surprising as far as Lackey is concerned. He'll get a chance to get back on track Sunday against the same Twins team that he struck out eight times and allowed just one earned run against less than a week ago.
