The Tigers have agreed to a deal with the Rangers that would send Prince Fielder to Texas in exchange for Ian Kinsler, CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman reports.
Fielder moving to Texas will free up a significant amount of money for Detroit, who may use the extra cash to pursue a long-term deal with pitcher Max Scherzer. The move also frees up a spot for Jurickson Profar on the Rangers, who will assume full-time second base duties with Ian Kinsler out of the picture. Fielder will move right into the heart of the Rangers' lineup, and his added power may make them one of the early favorites in the AL West.
