Romine was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.


Impact
Romine has been struggling at the dish this season (3-for-23 with no extra-base hits), and with Alberto Callaspo (calf) ready to come off the DL, the Angels decided to bump the 27-year-old Romine from the active roster. He'll work on his game at Salt Lake for the time being.
