Bruce went 2-for-5 with his 30th homer -- a grand slam -- five RBI and two runs in Tuesday's win over the Astros.
Neatly enough, the homer and the ribbies brought Bruce to an even 30 and 100 for the season. It's his third straight year reaching 30 homers, but his first time clearing 100 RBI after falling just short of the mark (by one and three) in the last two seasons. Incidentally, he's also struck out at a career-high rate this season, a fact that's not terribly promising in terms of any further development on Bruce's part. Still, if this is who he is -- a relatively (but not overly) low-average power hitter in a solid lineup -- that'll be plenty good enough for his fantasy owners.
